Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS-UK) is an education charity focused on sustainability. One of SOS-UK’s core aims is to repurpose the education system around the climate emergency and ecological crisis, serving as a force for good in response to the challenges society faces. SOS-UK engages institutions, educators and students from all disciplines, including nursing disciplines, supporting them to integrate sustainability into the academic and professional journey. SOS-UK want to see all students developing the knowledge, values, skills, and competencies required to make them great sustainability leaders. SOS-UK also runs the UNESCO-award winning Green Impact programme, which supports staff from many sectors to learn for sustainability at work, and guides them on how to implement positive actions in the workplace. Green Impact runs in primary and secondary healthcare across the UK, with many nurses taking part to reduce the negative impact of their wards, practices and departments.
