Dr Sarah Burden is a Registered Nurse (Adult), Reader in Nursing Education at Leeds Beckett University, and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Sarah has extensive experience in delivering nursing education both in Higher Education and in partnership initiatives with a range of health and social care providers, with her specific interests focused in practice education, end of life care and dementia. An experienced practitioner in intensive care and acute medicine, she has been involved as a Registered Vaccinator in the delivery of the COVID-19 mass vaccination programme in 2021/22. She is a Postgraduate Research Tutor in the School of Health and personally supervises doctoral students in studies engaged with Health & Social Care Professional Education, Dementia Care, and Healthcare practice. Sarah also contributes to the Centre for Learning & Teaching fellowship programme at Leeds Beckett University. Sarah is the current Chair of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Education Forum (2020-2023). She has contributed to publications on Placement Learning and been a member of the Task & Finish group leading the development of the RCN Education, Learning & Development strategy for 2021-2024. She currently sits on the Expert Reference group to take this ELD programme forward. She is experienced in reviewing for publications, and is involved in national and international conference organisation and review in nursing education and research.
