Sam has worked in education for over 17 years, 12 of them in Academia supporting the skills and simulation sessions across Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health programmes. She has a Masters in Medical and Healthcare Simulation, is the first Technician to be a National Executive Committee member of the Association of Simulated Practice in Healthcare (ASPiH), and leads on all things technical including Technicians professional registration with The Science Council. Sam is also the first simulation technician to be awarded Chartered Scientist recognition. Sam is a multi-award-winner, including being a former winner of the SNTA innovation category for the Dementia Simulation in 2018. Sam is passionate about the use of innovative teaching techniques to enhance student learning, and was responsible for embedding moulage, the art of applying wounds for training purposes, into curricula.
