Gail qualified as an RN from UCH in 1988. She then worked in hospitals until 1990 when she joined community nursing. Gail worked as a RN, District Nurse Team Manager, and a General Practice Nurse until she semi- retired in Dec 2020. She now works part time as a District Nurse supporting across the Community teams. Gail is responsible for assessing the clinical and leadership skills required for student district nurses completing the specialist practitioner qualification, while also providing clinical leadership and support to the district nursing teams. She mainly support newly qualified nurses in practice. She was honoured to be awarded the Queen’s Nursing Award in 2013. Gail is also an active member of the RCN DN and Community Nurse Forum Steering Group. She is also a QNI Leader, which has encouraged her to widen her influence and use her voice. She  also works  part time as a Senior  Lecturer within the community Nursing Team at  Buckinghamshire New University.
