Currently, I serve as Academic Portfolio Lead (APL) for the Adult Nursing Team, providing leadership for staff development, team performance, and portfolio delivery. As a member of the School Executive Committee, I contribute to the School’s operational leadership, working with senior colleagues to support positive outcomes for staff, students, and stakeholders. Prior to becoming an APL, I worked as a Senior Lecturer for seven years. Before entering academia, I spent 12 years in the NHS as a Registered Nurse, gaining extensive clinical experience across medical, surgical, high-dependency, and critical care settings. I completed my PhD at the University of Greenwich in 2016. I am an active member of the Faculty Research Ethics Committee, where I work alongside colleagues to review research ethics applications, ensuring that studies are conducted ethically and that reviews are undertaken rigorously, independently, and in a timely manner. I currently supervise three PhD students. I represent Early Career Academics (ECAs) on the Faculty People Committee. In this role, I act as a key liaison between ECAs and the Faculty People Committee, where I ensure that the experiences, challenges, and development needs of early-career colleagues are effectively represented in discussions and decisions relating to staffing, professional development, and staff wellbeing.
