Thomas Currid qualified as a nurse in 1990. Since then he has worked at various levels in clinical, educational and managerial roles in the NHS, prior to embarking on an academic career. He currently holds the role of Director of Student Engagement Satisfaction and Employability at the Univeirsty of Essex. He works as a Consultant in a voluntary capacity for charities and in 2016 was awarded a Queens Award for Voluntary Services (QAVS).Thomas has a strong commitment to quality, accessible and inclusive healthcare education and continues to engage in teaching, publishing and research.
