I am Dean of the School of Health and Sport at Southampton Solent University, providing strategic leadership across healthcare education, workforce development and partnership working. I am passionate about aligning education with the evolving needs of health and social care, widening access and creating opportunities for students to succeed as the next generation of healthcare and sport practitioners. Previously, I was Head of School at the University of Greenwich and University of East London, leading curriculum transformation, widening participation and nursing education development. An experienced Intensive Care Nurse, I have an international cardio-thoracic nursing background across the UK, South Africa and Egypt, and remain a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. I am also Deputy Chair for the South West South region of the Council of Deans of Health and contribute to its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group.
