Helen is currently a Senior Lecturer in Childrens Nursing at Birmingham City University with previous course lead (MSci Dual field nursing and RNDA) and academic lead (Student experience and employability) experience. Her clinical experience is within paediatric haematology/oncology having worked at both Great Ormond Street Hopsital NHS Foundation Trust and Birmingham and Womens NHS Foundation Trust. Helen has a passion for strengthening belonging and community of practices and this has been a theme within her national contributions which include being the education lead for the Children and Young Peoples Student Nurse Network (CYPStNN), being the founder of the Childrens Student Nurse Conference and co-founder of Nurse Academics UK. Helen has been a previous finalist on two occasions at the SNTA's- Hospital Placement of the Year 2018 and Nurse Educator of the Year 2025 and has had the priviledge of being part of the judging process for a number of years.
