My journey into nursing began with a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, particularly during the moments when they feel most vulnerable. That passion has taken me to becoming a Registered Mental Health Nurse and High-Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Therapist. For me, nursing has never been simply a profession; it is about seeing the person beyond the diagnosis, listening to the story behind the symptoms and helping people rediscover hope, strength and possibility. My experiences across community mental health, primary care and psychological therapies have strengthened my commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive and evidence-based care. I am equally passionate about mentoring, teaching and empowering the next generation. As a Student Nursing Times Awards judge, I am honoured to celebrate students whose compassion, courage, curiosity and commitment demonstrate the very best of nursing and its future.
