Trish has a far-reaching career in Learning Disabilities nursing and an Associate Professor/ Professional Lead for Learning Disabilities Nursing, Kingston University: St. George’s University of London. Having practiced as a Community Learning Disabilities Nurse, Trish moved into nurse education successfully leading the pre-registration Learning Disabilities nursing programme for many years, seeing students grow, flourish inspire and graduate to create change at all levels. Trish has led NMC practice education programmes, has extensive experience in curriculum design, delivery and evaluation and is passionate about developing and educating the health and social care workforce to make a real difference in the lives of people with Learning Disabilities. Trish is a strategic person, has a national profile and is currently vice-chair of LIDNAN. Trish is a Trustee at Books Beyond Words CIO, a charity empowering people through wordless picture stories. Topics include physical and mental health, lifestyle, relationships, abuse, grief, and bereavement.
