Lynne is currently the Deputy Chief Nurse at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay and has been in this post for six years. She has been a Registered nurse for over 38 years beginning her career as a cadet nurse, qualifying initially as an enrolled nurse and then four years later as a registered nurse. Her clinical experience was mainly in critical care where she developed a passion for ensuring that as nurses, we pay attention to the fundamental aspects of patient care. She holds a BA (Hons) in Healthcare and a MA in independent practice. Lynne's current portfolio includes quality, safety, patient experience and engagement, infection prevention and control, workforce planning, recruitment and retention and she holds the portfolio for safeguarding on behalf of the Chief Nurse. She is also the clinical lead for the service element of the Trust Inclusion and Diversity strategy. Out of work Lynne enjoys cycling and music, particularly choral singing and playing the guitar.
