Alison is a programme director for the MSc Early Years Practice (Health Visiting) programme at the University of Stirling. She is a registered nurse and SCPHN-HV and has a diverse range of knowledge, skills and experience through practice as a nurse, midwife, health visitor and child protection advisor. Alison moved into education in 2013 and is passionate about facilitating student learning and enhancing the student experience. Her research interests are in the field of vulnerable children, child protection and public health nursing. She is particularly interested in interventions to improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people, and the role of the school nurse. She is a part-time PhD student and the title of her study is "Exploring the work of the school nurse in supporting primary school age children's mental health".
