Julie is Head of Apprenticeships at Northumbria University, where she co-ordinates all health care apprenticeship programmes.She is programme lead for the registered nurse degree apprenticeship programme, which she has led since 2018, and it was this programme that won the SNTA apprenticeship award in 2024. Julie is a registered nurse and worked in the neuroscience speciality for 10 years before moving into Higher Education in 2002. Julie has recently been appointed as an Associate Professor in Nursing, which demonstrates her commitment to nurse education, research and workforce development.
