Dr. Trevor Sterling (Hon.causa) became Chair of the Mary Seacole Trust in 2016, the charity promotes Mary Seacole's legacy and is responsible for the statue of Mary Seacole sited at St Thomas's hospital in London. In 2021 Trevor was elected Senior Partner of Moore Barlow lawyers, becoming the first black senior partner of a top 100 UK law firm. Trevor heads Moore Barlow's dedicated Major Trauma Service.
Trevor received Honorary Doctorates from the University of Law and University of Roehampton in 2024 and 2025 respectively, for contributions to law and social mobility. He is s regular speaker on issues relating to social equality.
