Carol is an experienced senior nurse who is currently working with Birmingham City University to create and grow innovative, high quality practice learning experiences in collaboration with a diverse range of partners. She trained at St Bartholomew's School of Nursing before moving to Birmingham where she undertook a MSc in public sector management. Carol has held a variety of senior nursing roles which include; Clinical Lead Nurse for the West Midlands Renal Network, Lead Cancer Nurse, Lead Reviewer for Peer Review of London Renal Services and Head of Pre-Registration Education at University Hospitals Birmingham.

Carol is an experienced project manager, leading the establishment of inter-disciplinary Student-led Clinical Learning Environments and the Dedicated Education Hubs at University Hospitals Birmingham. Both projects won the Student Nursing Times Award (2022 and 2024) in the Student Placement of the Year: Hospital category.
