Having qualified as a nurse in 2001, I have enjoyed a varied and interesting nursing career. I began with ward nursing and fell in love with cardiology, realising my dream job of becoming a cardiac specialist nurse in 2005. I later worked as Resuscitation Officer at Lewisham Hospital and in the Emergency Department at Darent Valley Hospital enjoying the fast pace of those roles. I returned to the wards in 2016 as ward manager for the cardiac unit and then became a Matron for acute medicine at my district general hospital. I have recently become an Academic Education Pathway Lecturer at King’s College London and take great pride and enjoyment in now being able to support nursing students in their journey to registrant.
