Professor Katherine Curtis is Professor of Professional Development and the Associate Dean External Engagement and in the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education. In her current role, she works with external partners essential to practice education and workforce development for Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedic, Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work and Teacher Education. She is a critical care nurse with over 20 years of clinical experience and has been working as an educator in UK Higher Education since 2003. Katherine’s previous roles include leadership of a large School of Nursing and the development and quality assurance of diverse health professional curricula. She has more recently been co-designing new education initiatives such as pre-registration and postgraduate apprenticeship development with employers.
