Lisa Joanne Smith, Principal Lecturer in Pre-registration nursing, MSc, BSc Hons, PGCertTLHE, FHEA
Since qualifying in 1999 I have worked as an adult registered nurse in Intensive Care and Accident and Emergency. My career took the path of education by starting in Clinical Skills education in 2006 and then moving into Higher Education in 2015. My academic career started as a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Practice and then moved to a Senior Lecturer in Emergency and Urgent care, where I taught a variety of modules to registered nurses, paramedics, pharmacists and physiotherapists for 6 years. Recent promotion has meant my role has moved into Pre-registration nursing as a Principal Lecturer at the University of Cumbria, where I myself studied my undergraduate nursing degree. An achievement I am very proud of.
