Caroline Ellis is Senior Practice Development Nurse at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She is responsible for managing student nurse and trainee nursing associate placements across the organisation and supporting students and practice assessors/supervisors to resolve any problems. She prepares staff to provide high-quality supervision and assessment to students, from their first induction, to the practice assessor preparation programme and ongoing updates and support. She also manages the preceptorship programme for newly-qualified nurses and nursing associates and internationally-educated nurses.
Caroline has worked as an adult nurse in several NHS hospitals, mainly in short-stay medicine and emergency admissions. As she began to manage staff, she became increasingly interested in supporting staff and students to develop their skills and confidence to deliver high-quality care. After joining the practice development team at Kingston Hospital in 2017, she completed a PG Certificate in Practice Education to develop her skills in teaching and curriculum planning.
