Thomas Currid has a background in Nursing, Psychotherapy and Education. Having worked in senior positions both in the NHS and higher education, he has an in-depth knowledge and experience of matters that pertain to Student Nurses and Nurse Education. He is a keen supporter of engaging students in shaping the future of both nursing practice and education. Thomas works voluntarily as a Consultant to a mental health charity and was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Services. His clinical interests include Public Mental Health, Health Inequalities and Bio-Psychological approaches to health and wellbeing. He sits on a number of committees at the University of Essex. These include the Antiracist Group, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and the Research committee. In his spare time, he likes to garden, travel and socialise.
