Barry is currently the Head of Department for Nursing & Midwifery at the University of Huddersfield. Barry has been a nurse for the past 38 years, working in mental health and learning disabilities with a research background in Cognitive Therapy, primarily working with gamblers, and examining different vulnerable populations. Barry has worked in the UK, Australia, and the United States of America in both clinical and academic roles. Barry works broadly in community engaged research scholarship aimed at building community resilience, through student-run clinics. Barry is developing a population level transdiagnostic model of wellbeing linked to the clinics he is involved in.
